Woman of Achievement

November 30, 2020

St. Louis Women of Achievement is pleased to announce the 2020 Women of Achievement – a selection of 10 extraordinary volunteers from the St. Louis metropolitan region. This program has a mission to honor and recognize the volunteer service and leadership of women. This year this honor was bestowed on Toni Renee Jordan who is a past Missouri Mental Health Champion award recipient as well as a member of the Real Voices Real Choices planning committee. Toni’s life is a powerful story of devastation, recovery, and redemption. Toni is the voice for the uninsured, the homeless, the addicted and others that fall through the cracks and lose hope. Toni has been able to use her own story to inspire individuals and change communities. After attending Let’s Start, a support process for formerly incarcerated women in 2006, Toni started volunteering at Queen of Peace (QOPC), a substance abuse treatment center for women. Toni went on to create and lead the QOPC Consumer Advisory Board which lead to substantial change in the center’s programs, procedures, and policies. Toni has been on the advisory board for State of Missouri Transformation Grant and helped create a new network of service programs in the city of St. Louis for those experiencing homelessness, trauma, mental illness, and substance abuse. In 2012, Toni joined the Missouri Department of Mental Health State Advisory Council and eventually became vice-chair.

Congratulations to Toni for this well-deserved honor! Missouri Mental Health Foundation is so very proud of you and this achievement.
