Survey Results of Missourians Regarding Attitudes Toward People with Mental Illness, Substance Abuse and Developmental Disabilities

In Spring 2013, the Missouri Mental Health Foundation partnered with the University of Missouri-Columbia (Health and Behavioral Risk Research Center) and the Missouri Institute of Mental Health to examine attitudes and stigma towards mental illness (bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia), substance use disorders (alcohol dependence, marijuana dependence, hard drug abuse, prescription drug abuse) and developmental disabilities (mild and severe developmental delay, autism).
