Stigma is one of the most pervasive barriers to understanding the gravity of mental illnesses and the importance of mental health.

Stigma prompts many people to avoid working, socializing, and living with people who have a mental illness, addiction disorder or developmental disability.  Stigma impedes people from seeking help for fear the confidentiality of their diagnosis or treatment will be breached.

  • Mental Illness is a treatable disease;
  • Persons with addiction disorders or compulsive gambling problems can triumph over their addictions;
  • Persons with developmental disabilities can be productive employees and good neighbors in our communities.

Combat stigma and help others by learning the facts about mental illness, addiction disorders and developmental disabilities.
